The Circle is the essential building block of the Plugwise system.
Measure the energy consumption of connected appliances and switch them on or off with the Circle, a plug that you simply put between a socket and the appliance plug. The Circle stores power consumption data and transmits them to the Plugwise Source software installed on your computer, using a wireless ZigBee-mesh network. The software shows the data in clear overviews and well-organised charts.
The Circle measures energy consumption and wirelessly switches appliances
Appliances that are connected to a Circle, can immediately be switched on or off wirelessly from your computer. In addition, the Circle can switch appliances according to switching schemes that you implement with the Source software. The Circle is also equipped with a standby killer: when a connected appliance switches to standby mode, the Circle can entirely interrupt power to prevent unwanted energy usage. You can temporarily remove the Circle from the socket and plug it back in to restart a switched-off appliance.
The Circle works with all other Plugwise platform products, such as ‘Switch’, the wireless switch.
